This caramel apple cookie pizza has a sugar cookie crust topped with cream cheese frosting. Next, we sprinkle with diced apples and pecans, then we drizzle caramel sauce on the top. It’s a showstopper!
1/2cupcaramel sauce, (I like Mrs. Richardson brand)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix until combined.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add flour mixture to wet mixture until combined.
Press into prepared baking dish. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until edges just start to brown. Let cool.
While dough cooks, prepare cream cheese frosting. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk or cream. Mix slowly at first, then increase speed until light and fluffy.
Spread frosting on cooled crust. Sprinkle with apples and pecans. Drizzle with caramel. Cut into squares to serve.
Notes
HOW TO KEEP APPLES FROM TURNING BROWN
Salt – this works the best. Add your sliced or chopped apples to a bowl of cold water and add a 1/2 teaspoon of salt per cup of water. Let the apples sit for 5 minutes then drain and rinse them in a colander. Dry the apples and they are good to go!
