Preheat oven to 375 degrees and spray a 9X9 baking dish with cooking spray.
In a bowl combine the butter, eggs, sugar, and buttermilk. Add the cornmeal, flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix well.
Stir in the cheddar and jalapenos. Pour into the baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until top is barely golden brown and center is set. Cut into squares and serve with butter and honey.
